REGULATIONS
The sports club A.S.D. Polisportiva Marsala Doc, with the patronage of the Municipality of Marsala and under the aegis of FIDAL (Italian Athletics Federation), organizes the “11th Half Marathon Garibaldi City” – a road race of 21.097 km.
The event is valid as the 5th race of the 24th Grand Prix Sicilia of Half Marathons.
The race is included in the FIDAL National Calendar (Bronze level) and will take place in Marsala on Sunday, April 26, with the meeting of race judges and athletes from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Sunday, April 26: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. in Piazza della Vittoria, near the start/finish area.
Start time: 8:45 a.m. from Piazza della Vittoria.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
Athletes Registered in Italy
According to FIDAL rules for non-stadium events, Italian and foreign athletes registered in Italy aged 18 and over may participate if they meet one of the following requirements:

Athletes registered for 2026 with clubs affiliated to FIDAL.

Italian and foreign athletes holding a Runcard (sports insurance and competition permit) and athletes registered with a Sports Promotion Body (Athletics section) with a Runcard–EPS, limited to those aged 20 and over, with a valid competitive medical certificate for athletics.
Participation is subject to submitting the valid medical certificate along with the Runcard and proof of bank transfer at registration.
Athletes Not Registered in Italy
Italian/foreign athletes not registered in Italy aged 18 and over may participate if they meet one of the following requirements:

Athletes holding a club card affiliated with foreign athletics federations recognized by World Athletics (WA). They must present a self-certification confirming membership, to be signed in original when collecting the bib.

Athletes holding a Runcard (aged 20+), with a valid competitive medical certificate specific to athletics. For non-resident foreigners, the certificate may be issued in their country but must include the same tests required by Italian law:

For health and safety reasons, anyone without a race bib is not allowed on the course.

Coaches or companions may not travel along the route by bicycle or other vehicles under penalty of athlete disqualification and possible legal action.
The event will be supervised by the Trapani Race Judges Group. Each athlete will receive an electronic chip to wear during the race and return at the finish.
Failure to return the chip will result in a €20 charge.
All participants can download a free online diploma from www.endu.net.

The payment date—not the submission date—determines eligibility.
For Grand Prix standings, only the time recorded in the first 21.0975 km will be considered.

⚠️ Athletes eligible for the reserved starting grid (minimum times run in 2025 or 2026: 1:24:40 men / 1:35:30 women) must indicate their personal best at registration.

Bib Collection, Welcome, Race Kit, Route
Bib numbers, chips, gadgets, and race kits will be delivered collectively to a team representative.
The medal will be awarded at the finish to all athletes who complete the race.

Certified Course
Measured according to World Athletics regulations for road races.
Flat course starting from Piazza della Vittoria, passing through major streets and the seafront toward Petrosino (turnaround point), then returning to Marsala and finishing again in Piazza della Vittoria.

Race Start and Time Limit

Start: 8:45 a.m.

Maximum race time: 2 hours 50 minutes
Athletes must wear the timing chip throughout the race or face disqualification.
Timing and Rankings
Results will be processed by EvoData s.r.l.
All chips must be returned at the finish (€20 penalty otherwise).
Awards
Awards begin at 11:30 a.m. and will recognize:

Overall female winner

Overall male winner

Top three athletes in all FIDAL categories (male and female)

The club with the highest number of registered athletes (marathon + half marathon combined)
⚠️ No cash prizes are provided.
Uncollected prizes will not be delivered later.
Complaints
Any complaints must comply with FIDAL and R.T.I. regulations.
Cancellation
If the race is canceled, postponed, or not held for reasons beyond the organizers’ control (including revoked authorization), the entry fee will not be refunded. Registration implies acceptance of this clause.
However, in such cases, athletes will automatically have their registration transferred to the 2026 edition.
Data Processing
Under Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003, personal data is required for registration, rankings, archives, and event services. Failure to provide data results in exclusion from the event.

Image Rights
By registering, athletes authorize the organizers and partners to use photos and videos taken during the event for promotional purposes worldwide for the maximum period allowed by law.
Athlete Responsibility
Athletes are responsible for their race bib and must follow the official course. Cutting the route, using shortcuts, entering from unauthorized points, or racing without proper registration may lead to disqualification and legal consequences.
Throwing objects in the starting grids or along the course is prohibited.
Liability Waiver
The organization declines all responsibility for damages to persons or property before, during, or after the race. By registering, participants automatically accept the regulations and conditions.
For matters not covered, FIDAL rules and the Grand Prix Sicilia regulations apply.
Final Notices
The organizing committee reserves the right to modify these regulations for organizational reasons, subject to FIDAL approval. Updates will be communicated to registered athletes or published online.
